Official Supported Subraces

Human

There are almost four million humans in Tethyr, yet among them even a lesser noble stands out. You may come from wealth or squalor, but the ongoing relief from the civil war provides many opportunities for advancing ones station in life. However you choose to distinguish yourself, it will take cunning, steel and the help of your companions to maintain your place in the Lands of Intrigue. As a human, you are able to hold lands, titles, and nobility that is simply out of reach for other races.

If you choose not to select a subrace, you will instead choose an Ethnicity for your human character. This is the same as selecting no subrace but will award you bonus languages and allow you to better portray your character.

By default humans have the following features:

  • Favored Class (Any) – when determining whether a multiclass human suffers and XP penalty, his highest level class does not count.
  • Quick to Master – A human may select an additional feat at 1st level.
  • Skilled – A human has 4 extra skill points at 1st level, plus 1 additional skill point at every following level.

Human, Aasimar

Aasimars are usually tall and good looking or otherwise pleasant. They may possess a single, minor trait suggesting their heritage such as silver hair or golden eyes. Most Aasimars are good-aligned and try to sway others to do the right thing.

On occasion they take on the vengeance-seeking aspect of their celestial ancestor, but this is rarely seen.

Aasimar are at a disadvantage in Tethyrian society, where their celestial parentage is considered less than ideal for the ruling class. As such, Planetouched characters can only be from the Lower or Middle Class.
