Special Materials and Effects

On the Knights of Noromath server, there are many special materials and item enhancements and properties which have been added to the base game. The following page is intended to serve as a brief summary of these additions.

Adamantine– This material is mined, refined, and crafted at a workstation.
– Medium adamantine armors resist 2/ physical damage.
– Heavy adamantine armors resist 3/ physical damage.
– Adamantine weapons overcome adamantine armor resistance.
Ankheg (Shell)– This material is collected and crafted at a workstation.
– This material is wearable by druids without breaking their vows.
– This material is more lightweight than conventional armor.
Cold Iron– This material is collected and crafted at a workstation.
– This material overcomes the damage reduction of creatures with a weakness to cold iron, such as fey or certain outsiders.
Iron– This material is mined, refined, and crafted at a workstation.
– This material is the most commonly appearing, because it is relatively inexpensive.
Mithril– This material is mined, refined, and crafted at a workstation.
– This material is wearable by arcane spellcasters, as it reduces arcane spell failure when used to make armor.
– This material is as strong as steel, but lighter.
– This material is rare and expensive.
Silvered (Alchemical)– This material is added to an existing weapon via alchemy proficiency.
– This material overcomes the damage reduction of creatures with a weakness to silver, such as werewolves.
– This material can only be added to iron or steel weapons.
Steel– This material is smelted from iron and crafted at a workstation.
– This material is considered superior quality for weapons and armor, steel items are somewhat common.
Magical PropertiesEffects
Ghost Touch– This property is a permanent magical item enchantment.
– When placed on a weapon this property negates the miss chance associated with attacking incorporeal creatures.
– When placed on an armor this property provides a miss chance against attacks from incorporeal creatures.
Good Aligned– This property is a permanent magical item enchantment.
– When placed on a weapon this property negates the damage reduction possessed by certain evil creatures.
– Good Aligned weapons may only be used by creatures of good alignment.
Evil Aligned– This property is a permanent magical item enchantment.
– When placed on a weapon this property negates the damage reduction possessed by certain good creatures.
– Evil Aligned weapons may only be used by creatures of evil alignment.
Lawful Aligned– This property is a permanent magical item enchantment.
– When placed on a weapon this property negates the damage reduction possessed by certain chaotic creatures.
– Lawful Aligned weapons may only be used by creatures of lawful alignment.
Chaotic Aligned– This property is a permanent magical item enchantment.
– When placed on a weapon this property negates the damage reduction possessed by certain lawful creatures.
– Chaotic Aligned weapons may only be used by creatures of chaotic alignment.
