Prelude Session 1: The Queen’s Edict
Selune was full and bright in the sky, bringing brave travelers alongside a rider from Darromar to the Duchy of Noromath just after midnight. The Tejarn Gate’s bell rang out in the night, and the gates were sealed tight to prevent news from escaping too early. The Lord-Knight pressed the Edict from the Queen into the Noticeboard and it went into effect immediately.

Let it be known throughout all the realm: Brost County, long embattled and bloodied in service to the Crown, has tested the patience and coffers of the Kingdom. Yet while voices of doubt stir in the Council, Her Majesty affirms that the borderlands remain under the dominion and protection of Tethyr.
To secure the realm’s honor and uphold the Queen’s Peace, the following decrees shall be enacted:
- The Mustering of Arms: The Council of Noromath is hereby commanded to raise men-at-arms and levy militias to bolster the county garrisons and secure the Tethir Road. Failure to do so shall be deemed dereliction of fealty.
- The Watchful Eye: The Knights of Agis are hereby charged to continue their investigation into threats both seen and unseen, and to render reports directly to the Crown. Their authority shall not be impeded by the decree of any local temporal authority.
- The Burden of Tribute: Noble houses profiting from trade through the borderlands shall provide one-tenth of such revenues to the Queen’s treasury, that the Crown may offset the burden of continual defense.
- The Judgment of the Magistrate: In matters of law, the Queen’s appointed Magistrate of Brost County shall hold supreme authority, above the Council of Noromath, until such time as Her Majesty deems otherwise.
Thus is the will of the Crown. Let none mistake the strength of Tethyr, nor the resolve of Her Queen.
